Nepal is famous for its spectacular mountains, rich culture and friendly people. It is also home to some of the most varied and rewarding National Parks in Asia.
Bardia National Park is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, sloth bears and one horned rhino, as well as a myriad of smaller animals. It is also little visited, despite being the best place to look for tigers in the sub-continent. Chitwan, to the East, is more developed due to its position nearer Kathmandu. You can explore by boat, jeep or on foot.
There is also time to visit Lumbini, the birth place of Buddha, explore the UNESCO sites of the Kathmandu valley and enjoy some day walks in the Himalayan foothills, observing the superb bird life.
Both Bardia National Park and Chitwan National Park are vital conservation areas for the one horned rhino, the Asian elephant and the Bengal Tiger. All three species are critically endangered. The Real World Conservation Trust works with many different conservation charities such as Save the Rhino, Save the Elephant, Animals Saving Animals and African Parks.Plan My Journey Speak To Us
