Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1-2

Kathmandu
You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu. The hotel is an institution in itself, being one of the very first to open in the 1970's and having had many famous visitors. From here you can either relax in its garden or explore on foot. The next day you will be met by your guide and vehicle and set off to explore the city and valley. You will visit the monkey temple of Swayambhunath, perched on a small hill to the west of the city as well as the historic Durbar Square. There will also be time to visit the nearby UNESCO World heritage sites of Boudha - a giant stupa that is the centre of the Tibetan community and Pashupatinath - a Hindu temple sacred to Shiva and its cremation ghats.

DAY 3

Pokhara
Today you drive to Pokhara, a town to the west sitting on the shore of Lake Phewa and with beautiful views of the Annapurna mountains. The drive takes much of the day but offers amazing views of the Trisuli river that runs along the bottom of the valley and of the Himalayan foothills, with small terraces and farms perched high above you. Your lodge is in the best position in town, its gardens running don to the lake and with the mountains reflected in its waters. You can head into town and walk along the shores of the lake or head west and climb to the Peace Pagoda, situated ona forested ridge to the west of town.

DAY 4

Mountains
A short drive of 45 minutes brings you up onto a ridge to the east of Pokhara and to the wonderful Tiger Mountain Lodge. The views from here are exceptional, which you can enjoy as you take tea and your meals out on its terrace. There are some lovely, gentle walks in the vicinity you can enjoy or take a guide to go slightly further a field.
